Lecture with Marianne Göthlin in Vienna
Everyone carries a heart - Developing schools through Nonviolent Communication
In Marianne’s lecture you will hear about experiences from NVC school projects with long term ambitions, and which have contributed to meaningful school development. I includes a 35 min. video presentation about the current school project in Slovenia
Marianne Göth
lin, is a pioneer in the field of school development through NVC. As teacher and NVC trainer she has initiated several projects throughout Europe over the last 10 years and worked with thousands of teachers.
“My motivation as a trainer is to inspire people to communicate clearly what is important to them - to lead forth everyone's resources rather than teaching anything. NVC helps teachers to be strong role-models for respectful dialogue and cooperation, which gives children skills for life. “
Schools are facing challenges, i.e. stress, mobbing, gap between vision and resources. Sometimes a strong focus on goals and effectiveness lead to less attention on humanistic values like respect and tolerance that we all carry in our hearts. NVC reminds us in a powerful way to be aware of our values, our goals and intentions throughout the challenging situations of life at school.
“NVC has been my strongest support to face the complexity of effectively including both - academic knowledge AND social and emotional competence - as a teacher.” (Marianne Göthlin)
Topics that will be addressed:
- How can practice of NVC serve school life and make a difference?
- How can NVC help school actors to resolve conflicts peacefully and with respect?
- How can NVC help us changing our self-images from functions in systems, to powerful life serving communicators?
- What makes a project sustainable?
- Sharing of project outcomes
